A double-iron wooden jack is a wonderful tool for rough stock preparation: The light-weight and almost frictionless soles make using these planes a pleasure. My standard jack has an open tote, a 2" iron, and is 15" long. This plane comes with a cambered iron (12" radius), ideal for hogging off material in most domestic hardwoods and softwoods. If you prefer a different profile for your iron, please let me know when ordering. I recommend a bed angle of 47.5°; however, I'm happy to accommodate requests for custom bed angles from 45° to 50°.
